IRAP's legal assistance team is also developing a memo-bank where we will post legal research memoranda on a variety of topics relating to Iraqi refugee legal assistance. We hope this will be a useful resource for practitioners who seek information about this new, and relatively undefined, field of law.

If you are a law firm or NGO wishing to refer a case to IRAP, please email rebecca.heller@yale.edu

If you would like IRAP's help in your settlement proceedings, please download this form (english or arabic), fill it out, and email to becca.heller@gmail.com. Please note that we are not accepting new cases at this time, but will respond to your request as soon as possible. We do not charge for our services and do not disburse money or other benefits to our clients besides legal representation.

Legal Assistance

IRAP provides legal assistance for Iraqis applying for resettlement from abroad. This includes help registering as a refugee with UNHCR, navigating the UNHCR referral process, applying directly to the International Organization for Migration or U.S. Embassy for Special Immigrant Visas or P-2 Status, and making referrals for Iraqis already inside the United States seeking to apply for asylum.
