IRAP is advocating for a better U.S. policy toward the Iraqi refugee crisis. In the past year, the United States accepted about 12,000 Iraqi refugees for resettlement, a small fraction of the number accepted from Southeast Asia after the Vietnam War, or from the Balkans after the wars fought there. We are working with legislators, NGOs, attorneys and refugees to develop a more generous approach to a crisis the United States had a major role in generating.
